EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

1999 – Present:
Senior Engineering Systems/IT Analyst Dow Corning, Barry.
Development, management and 3rd line support of global AutoCAD systems, Printers, Workstations and Servers for UK and Ireland. Development and management of UK Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), IT Asset Management, Audits and Project Management using Six Sigma methodology. Most recent projects being the European DRP and global printer replacement. Highly proficient use of AutoCAD in the production and design of all process industry drawings such as GAs, P&IDs, Loops, Structural, Civil, Electrical, Piping, Drainage. Extensive experience of  converting paper records to electronic records.

Achievements:
• Managed and developed efficient and productive CAD systems to cater for the global Engineering and Design departments. Developed and maintained global corporate standards for all disciplines through key user group networks. Developed and ran CAD related training courses.
• Development and standardisation of all AutoCAD systems globally in five languages.
• Award for the efficient development, training and installation of the refurbished CAD department systems. Entire drawing office of some 70 workstations were swapped out and installed over one weekend.
• Installation and development of the Autoplant 3D plant design system, which is now a key component to the successful design of various plants around the world. Major cost savings due to the induction of 3D CAD during project design.
• Implementation of Documentum Document Management System.
• Scanning, cataloguing and archival of entire office drawing archive of 50,000+drawings

Provided advice and consultancy to CAD customers on location and remotely. All aspects of hardware and software support, training, installations and on-site consultancy.

Achievements:
• West Wales oil refineries – Complete scanning, updating and document management of design offices.
• Extensive document management for Kango, Powell Duffryn, EMMS, Merthyr Tydfil Borough Council, West Glamorgan County Council involving optical disk jukebox servers, scanners, plotters on Unix and PC networks.
• South Glamorgan Health Authority – Surveying and draughting of all hospitals into 3D AutoCAD with M and E services for fire regulations.
• Sun Valley Poultry – Several months based at Hereford headquarters drawing all structural and services plans for the refurbished site following the fire in 1993.
• Kango Tools – Two months based in Peterborough scanning their database of approximately 30,000 drawings.

• 3D development of Cardiff International Arena and various Cardiff Bay Development projects.

• British Aerospace – Conversion of 200 plus drawings to CAD in one 36 hour shift.
• National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth – Conversion of rare 19th Century drawings to BS1192 CAD drawings.
• Ove Arup – Scanning and enhancement of every historical Cardiff map from 1830 on.
• British Steel Port Talbot – Conversion of site and strip mill layouts to CAD.
• Ford Motor Company – Scanning and vectorising of aperture card drawing database.

• 200-room hotel in Bracknell with full 3D Architectural, M and E services.

Manufacture of working and record drawings for all M and E services for the company contracts. Other projects included the use of desktop publishing for the production of the departments operating and maintenance manuals.

Setting up, implementation and running of the computerised maintenance management system. Design and documentation of procedure manuals for the operation and maintenance of the factory plant for the purpose of the factory.

Achievements:
Appraisal by Lloyds QA inspectors on the accuracy and quality of the maintenance department system.
