Battle For
Middle-Earth Good Campaign Map 11, Act 10 - Helm's Deep
Mount Theoden & Eowyn. Autoset main powers of all heroes. Build 2 farms on upper level.
You start with a Archery Range, Fountain & one Farm.
Collect treasure on the lower level
Close the gates & build 2 more farms behind & build a postern gate to the east. Send Legolas & at least 1 fully upgraded battalion of Archers to the main gate to defend against battering rams. When the mines start coming to blow up the culvert the battering rams always seem to arrive at the main gate so you'll need some decent fire arrows to see them off & a hero such as Legolas with help with the kill level. Send all other heroes on foot to the wall above the culvert. Theoden, Eowyn & the single Battalion of Rohirrim will be handy to trampe any Uruks & Bezerkers that get on the wall whilst the other heroes & Archers are concentrating
Also possibly build postern gate near the culvert although from experience you would be better to keep the cash until later & spend it on upgrades for now. Start training archers to place on the walls & build an armoury on the last empty plot ready to upgrade. You have little more than 8 minutes to fully build your army before Isengard arrives.
Collect more treasure just below the far west of the wall & build another farm. If you look after your troops well you should only need one Archery Range but you need plenty of cash to keep resources coming in.
Just as I was buying the upgrades from the Armoury the sounds of Elven horns could be heard. Guide Elven reinforcement to the main wall above the culvert. Upgrade them when resources allow as well as the Yeomen Archers that were on the wall already. Less that 7 minutes to train & upgrade as many archers as possible.
With 5 minutes to go the first call to defend the refugees comes. Send heroes south to pass them & kill Warg Riders pursuing them. Leave heroes at the south of the map as there will be another group of refugees arriving in just over a minute.
Collect reward left at the gate by the refugees. At just under 3 minutes to go another set of Refugees arrive so defend them as well & collect another reward at the gate. Send Heroes back behind the main gate & concentrate up upgrading all the archers you've already trained & build as many as you can in the 2minutes or so you have left before Isengard arrives.
Place Aragorn, Legolas & Boromir with the archers on the main wall near the culvert as that will need the most defending from mines & siege ladders. Place Gimli over the main gate as he'll be handy to use his leap attack from there. Place Theoden, Eowen & battalion of Rohirrim just behind gate but use them for a quick dash at the enemy outside the gate when you can. Your best defence is as many fully upgraded archers as possible for now until Eomer & troops arrive. You have 15 minutes to keep the Uruks from destroying the walls first though so plenty of saves would be advisable & keep an eye on mines getting near the culvert. They are very easy to miss. Notice that the rain has started as in the film. You should just about have enough time to fully upgrade the archers you have before the assault starts. I managed around 6 battalions of Elven Archers & 3 battalions of Yeomen Archers. When you hear the chants start the battle is about to start. Time's up, ready to fight.
The ladders equipped with Berserkers will give you the most trouble to start with so with all your troops on the wall hot keyed use it to concentrate on any ladders getting close. If anyone does get on the wall use every archers to kill them & destroy ladder before loads of Uruks get on the wall as well. Keep any eye out for mines all the time & kill mine bearers as soon as you see them. Might be worth butting some Elven wood in front of the culvert to help with defence. Keep training & upgrading Archers (I chose Elves every time) until your command point limit is reached. If troop fatalities get bad keep training & upgrading until Eomer & Galdalf with the Rohirrim arive.
As you're trying to defend the wall above the culvert a battering ram is on its way to the main gate. You will probably have to dash there to destroy it along with mounted heroes & troops although Gimli seemed to do a good job with axe throwing on his own. Send all peasants to the main gate with their tools to carry out any repairs. If you have the resources then fully upgrade them against attacks.
Send all Archers, Aragorn, Legolas & Boromir to the wall above the culvert again. The ladders seem to have stopped for now so keep watching the Palantir for further attacks on the gate. Less that 10 minutes to go for the Rohirrim to arrive. At around 8 minutes to Eomer a load of armoured Pikes & Wargs are hanging around the gate. The walls seem to be safe for now so send all archers to the gate to clear them away. At this time another major assault is on its way so go back to the main wall above the culvert again.
At just over 7 minutes to Eomer the next wave will hit with the mine bearers. Look out for them & destroy at all costs. Keep any ladder bearers subdued as well.
At 5 minutes to Eomer a load of Wargs are attacking the main gate & another major raid of Uruks are heading the culvert area. I managed to take out 2 mine bearers at once by blowing one up & the other getting caught in the blast. If you're lucky a number of Uruks will be taken out as well.
With a minute to go to Eomer's arrival to go I only have 145 command points in use of 260 with a number of Elven Archers queued up. The Deeping Wall & the main gate are still intact though.
Keep the forces of Evil at bay for just a short while longer. Try & clear away the armoured Pikes near the main gate as you'll need the entrance clear to get the Rohirrim back in. At last Eomer arrives with Gandalf, Rohirrim & Archers. Let them have a quick bash at any wandering Uruks or Wargs then head for the main gate to regroup behind the walls.
With everyone behind the walls regenerating rearrange your group setting to all Archers & heroes on foot, Mounted troops & peasants. Spread Archers evenly along the wall & send mounted troops on first mission to destroy enemy camps.
You should manage to destroy the western enemy camp before heading back to the well for regeneration & a return attack on the second camp. At the same time send all Archers & heroes on foot down the ramp to start clearing their way to the second camp. By the time the cavalry is ready you can hit the last camp with all you've got for one last big battle.
By the time I had well over double my command point limit so send everyone south, sweeping away every enemy in your path. Use Theoden's Glorious Charge as you trample any foot soldiers on the way to victory.
I managed to destroy all but 2 structures before losing a number of command points so headed back to camp for a quick regen. Beware of any bomb carriers around the left of the siege ladders. There were 4 siege ladders but when I fired on the bomb 2 of the ladders were destroyed as well.
I'm sure I remember some Ents arriving to the end of the battle in place of the Huorns in the book & also in the earlier at this map. By the time I had regenerated I had an impressive command point level of 545 against a limit of 260.

Objectives - Destroy all the Forces of Isengard & Call in Eomer's Army when he arrives. I have a person objective to not let the deeping wall get blown up or the main gate destroyed as well. This is surprisingly difficult when there's so much action going on all around.
Prize for total victory -
+30 Command & +2 Power.
Total score
- 110,841 - Total Victory.
Upon Total Victory, Rohan Army consisting of Eomer, Gandalf, Theoden, Legolas, Gimli, Aragorn, Boromir & Eowyn accompanied by 95 Archers, 5 Peasants & 50 Rohirrim recover at Helm's Deep. Attention now turns to Merry & Pippin with Treebeard & 7 Ents approaching Isengard for +10% Resources & +2 Power. The Haradrim Army of 3 Mumakil & 180 Evil men have reached the Crossroads with the Armies of Mordor still waiting in Mordor.
