Battle For Middle-Earth Evil
Campaign Map 19, Act 17 - Lebennin
Before I started the attack I had a quick scout & found that as the text at the top of the image says "The bridges in this area are heavily guarded".
Build a small resources camp at the south east corner & slaughterhouse to the north. Grouped Pikes together as a shield, Uruks at the rear waiting & Wargs scouting further north to look for any weak points.
It indeed looks like all the crossings are heavily guarded. As well as this bridge there is a river crossing to the north with more firestone trebuchets & fully upgraded tower guards. Shame I don't have any Trebuchets myself so I'll have to scout with a few battalions of Uruks from the bridge to start & perhaps a few Wargs to have a go at the Trebuchets at least.
I decided to make a rush with the Wargs & took out a few trebuchets but not all & took heavy casualties. Sent the survivors back to camp to regenerate & await the large assault brought on by my attack.
Best option was to stand firm & hope for the best.
At last I secured the bridge & killed the defence as far north as was safe. Sent survivors back to camp to regenerate & send Saruman & Wargs to build small camp here to try & build some more Uruks whilst there asre spare command points. Although I had taken heavy losses, most of the battalions still had at least one member left alive. If I get it right then I should have a decent force to push further.
Finally managed to secure the river crossing. Sent Saruman & all Uruks along the north bank to build another small camp. I left the Wargs guarding the Uruk camp to the south. I managed to queue 2 Crossbow & 2 Uruk groups before the command point limit stopped me. Only 1 set of crossbows were spawned to needed to carefully free up some more.
After repeated attacks from snipers I finally reached the north. Destroyed & built a defensive camp. Hopefully this is the only armoury meaning the enemy won't be able to upgrade any troops for a while at least.
I think I'll head for this camp
Whilst my attack on the Gondor city rages I sent my Wargs south west to scout the rest of the map.
Built 3 slaughterhouses to the south west & sent Wargs north to close in on the camp & attack the trebuchets from the rear.
Once all my troops were regenerated I sent them all to destroy the last camp to the north west. With all the troop buildings destroyed & then the towers the camp was defenceless.

It is interesting to note that a number of my Crossbow combos seems to be gaining a reasonable skill level. Perhaps I'm starting to get it right at last. Once more I stayed with Saruman who should be soon maxed out to level 10, 260 Uruks & 15 Warg Riders to Pelargir for +2 Power.
